Prof. Dr. Heinz Zimmermann

Prof. Dr. Heinz Zimmermann is Professor emeritus of Finance at the University of Basel, where he served from 2001 to 2023, and former academic director of the Basel-Tilburg MBA. Prof. Zimmermann was also a board member of the Center for Innovative Finance and previously held professorships at the University of St. Gallen and the University of Bern, mentoring over 100 doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. His publications focus on capital markets, asset pricing, derivatives, and pension finance, with notable works published by Wiley, NZZ Libro, and Springer. Recipient of the Latsis Prize and the Swiss Risk Award in 2023, he completed his PhD in 1985, postdoctoral studies at MIT, and co-founded several financial firms.
